A very rare Royal Doulton Golfing proverbs series rack plate D3481. The plate was adapted by Doulton from designs from  By Will H Bradley (1868-1930).The scene depicts an early Golfer about to strike a ball with an ancient club. the border of the plate has a grapevine pattern. The proverbs reads L/H Nothing ventured nothing win, & R/H count not your chickens before they are hatched. The designs were introduced in 1911 & withdrawn by 1928. The plate has slight crazing due to age & a small amount of restoration that has been professionally repaired but does not detract.

A Superb Royal Doulton "Dutch " seriesware teapot with an usual windmill for a lid finial. This series was designed by C J Noke & was introduced in 1904 & was finally withdrawn during World War II. The teapot shows figures in Dutch national dress, Including a little boy with his finger in the dyke wall, An old man with a stick & on the reverse side 2 ladies talking. The teapot is in excellent order no chips Or restoration (a small paint miss during manufacture as can be seen) & is delightful

This is a very unusual shape jug & series not many of this series available. This is a very rare Royal Doulton Nursery Rhymes designed by William Savage Cooper (1863-19430, the series was introduced in 1903 & withdrawn by 1939. The plate  has a scene of a Monk sitting on the waters edge fishing surrounded by reeds, ferns & rocks etc & has a motto "Tomorrow will be Friday" on the bottom edge of the plate. A very small edge chip has been professionally restored on the plate. The plate is very rare as the series was not in production for long. A very attractive, interesting plate.
